What should I study to become a sports lawyer?
To pursue a career in Sports Law, you must first earn a law degree from a recognised university. After completing a general Master’s in Legal Practice, you can specialise with a Master’s in International Sports law like the one offered at Unisport. This pathway prepares you to work with athletes, federations, clubs, and global sports institutions.
How long is the Master’s in international Sports Law?
The Master’s in International Sports Law at Unisport is a fully online programme that lasts 1,500 hours, which is equivalent to approximately 12 to 14 months of study depending on your pace and availability.
What is international sports law?
International sports law refers to the set of legal principles, rules, and regulations that govern sports activities and relationships across borders. It covers areas such as athlete contracts, governance of federations, anti-doping policies, dispute resolution (including CAS/TAS), and the legal structure of international competitions. With the globalisation of sport, professionals trained in international sports law are increasingly in demand.
Are scholarships or financial aid available?
Yes. At Unisport, we allocate more than £420,000 annually in scholarships and financial aid for students across all our programmes, including the sports law master. For details on eligibility and how to apply, contact our admissions team, they’ll guide you through the process.
Do you have your own job board?
Yes, we offer a full employability plan, including access to our dedicated Job Center. Many students in the master’s in sports law programme benefit from this career support to access real opportunities in the sports industry.
Are internships guaranteed?
Yes, internships are fully guaranteed in Spain. If you choose to complete them abroad as part of your master in sports law training, you can arrange them independently with Unisport’s support to formalise the agreement.
How long do the internships last?

Are internships required to obtain the official qualification?
No, internships are optional and extracurricular. They are not required to earn your official diploma.
What are the admission and accreditation requirements?
To enrol in this programme and obtain accreditation from UDIMA, you must hold prior university qualifications in fields related to the master’s. Additionally, you will need to submit the required documentation within one month from the start of the master’s and pay the corresponding fees. If you have any questions, your advisor will be happy to assist you.
Are there fixed start dates?
Yes. The programme has three intakes per year: in October, February, and July, allowing you to choose the schedule that best fits your professional and personal commitments.
Can I organise my schedule freely?
While the programme is flexible and fully online, the Unisport Master’s in Sports Law follows a structured learning path with defined timelines for classes, assignments, and exams. However, our tutors and academic support team help you adapt the programme to your availability.
Will I have access to all course content from the start?
